Week of August 15th, 2016

Back to School! :)

Dear Fourth Grade Families,

As our summer comes to an end, I am happily anticipating another incredible year in 4th grade.   We have so much to look forward to as a class.  This year we will study rich California history, raise fish in our classroom, explore and take risks as mathematicians and grow as Edna Maguire students.  Get ready for a spectacular year!

We will spend the first few weeks of school building a strong classroom community and learning about classroom routines and expectations for the school year.  Please come to school ready to respect and support your classmates and excited to learn.  Together we will work hard to make Room 29 a place in which we all love learning, exploring and growing.

Here are a few important reminders for the beginning of the school year:

The bell schedule has changed this year! The school day will begin at 8:45am and end at 3:05pm.  Please make your plans to drop off and pick up your child accordingly.  Our complete class schedule will be available at Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 7th.  I hope to see all of you there!

Also, our school district will no longer be using Clorox wipes or similar products this year. Please cross this item off of your 4th grade supply list! New California State Regulations prohibit schools from using any cleaner that makes a germicidal claim (e.g.: “Disinfects,” “Sanitizes,” “germicidal,” “Kills 99.9% of germs.”) The district provides an approved “green” cleaner for classrooms and community areas. Alcohol-based hand gels and wipes are okay, so are baby wipes that make no germicidal claim. Thank you for supporting MVSD and the Healthy Schools Act.

I can't wait to meet you all on the first day of school!

Warmly,
Ms. Frazier
